Variator

Derestricting the variator on a Ludix Blaster.

1. Remove the side cover to reveal the variator, belt and clutch.
2. Remove the variator nut whilst locking the variator with a universal variator/clutch/flywheel holding tool (£10.99 www.beedspeed.com)
3. Remove the variator assembly from the shaft.
4. Remove the plate shown below from the variator assembly. This restricts the movement of the roller weights and hence limits top speed.

5. Replace the variator assembly, belt etc.
6. Lock the variator and torque the variator nut to 40nM (other models may vary so check first)
7. Replace the side cover.

dont you also take off a little washer so that the double variators can get closer together therefor more speed...

I got a pic but cnt get it on here Sad

No, taking it off would reduce top speed, but increase acceleration...

look on this website it tells you to take out the washer to get more top speed??
